Project Portfolio

Over my time at Temple, I have had the pleasure to lead and/or be part of amazing projects that challenge my skills and expand my horizon. Please feel free to explore what I have accomplished below

Zing Non-Functional Prototype

Through Professor Carey O’Donnell, I was connected with Zack Bailine, an aspiring entrepreneur, who has an amazing business idea. Although Zack has a great vision for a mobile application, he was having trouble getting investor attention. Therefore, I offered to provide him with a non-functional prototype of his vision for this mobile application.

We have a meeting prior to the creation of the non-functional prototype for me to understand his vision for the application and elicit key requirements from him. From there, I established an open communication channel to keep the client up-to-date on the project’s progression and fulfill the client’s requirements. Using the Agile Method, I set up a meeting every sprint with the client to ensure client’s satisfaction and collect any additional requirements from him. In the end, he was impressed with how the project progressed and how it perfectly captured his business vision. Zack recently entered Temple’s Be Your Own Boss Bowl (BYOBB) with his business idea and will be planning to use the non-functional prototype to provide a visual representation of his idea to the judges.

Through this experience, I further see the importance of the “see-feel-change” concept I learned in Project Management class (MIS 3535). By being able to show people a prototype of his vision, Zack was able to share, connect, and provide a powerful visualization of his business idea with potential investors. This can potentially impact how investors feel about his business idea and maybe decide to invest in his project.

Temple Athletics’ Webpages Transformation

As the first intern with technical background at Temple Athletics, I was able to increase the Department’s digital footprint online by transforming its website to fit the requirements of modern web-design and user experience.

Prior to my arrival at Temple Athletics, new webpages are created just to display the information necessary. These webpages had minimal styling and not responsive when viewed in smaller devices. By using what I learned in my MIS coding classes, along with maintaining constant communication with the Assistant Athletics Directors to get important requirements, I was able to create and maintain 20+ visually appealing and mobile responsive webpages that satisfy the project sponsor’s needs and wants.

MIS PRO Point Project

In the MIS Department, students are required to be active in and out of the classrooms to fulfill the 1000 PRO Points requirement for graduation. As a result, many students in the major wonder what is the best way to earn Pro Points and graduate on time. Together with Nhi Nguyen, we have to analyze past PRO Point data from the Department and present the information in a way that is understandable by everyone.

To do this, Nhi and I set up weekly meeting to go over project requirements and perform the necessary analysis on the data. To perform data analysis, we organized and processed data using Excel pivot tables. We then used Tableau, a business intelligence software, to create meaningful visualizations of our findings. Finally, we imported those visualizations into Piktochart to create a visually appealing and easy to understand infographic. In the end, the Department was impressed with our work as we were able to show how MIS students from different years are earning points and how underclassmen can get more involve fulfilling the PRO Point requirement.
