What I really enjoyed was hearing everyone participate during class. As a non-Fox Business School student, my program is in the School of Tourism and Hospitality Management, it was truly a pleasure listening to the Fox students get involved in the course material and really present themselves at a high standard. Gave me a good idea of what and…[Read more]

I would remind myself of the threat of a ‘keylogger’ and using my financial information on various internet retail websites. I’d also deeply consider the role of IT in the business process regardless if I am directly or indirectly involved in the immediate action tasks.

Simple:
– Me, “Hey, 5 year old, what do you know about the World?”
– 5 year old, “Everything!”
– Me, “Ok, that’s great, lets consider that knowledge.. Now go home and tell your Mommy you know everything in the World, that’s called knowledge management.”
– 5 year old, “Knowledge management? Wow.. What?.”
– Me, “That’s right, knowledge is…[Read more] -

What I believe to make the most sense is that manufacturing will shift from the prototypical centralized corporate industrial structure to a decentralized open source model, and then back into the centralized corporate industrial structure. As I believe the process circulates to and from both business practices periodically pending on which…[Read more]

Asher I. Halbert commented on the post, Retail Store Data Breaches, on the site 10 years ago
Honestly, I have no clue. What I do know is that companies explicitly state the user’s liability % versus the companies liability % through online waiver and agreement pop-up windows when it comes to online financial security. For example, last night I was about to register for a new website, provide my credit card information, and submit a…[Read more]

Asher I. Halbert commented on the post, Discussion Question: Fraud and Safety, on the site 10 years ago
Feel like financial security can sway both sides of the security pendulum. On one hand modern financial technologies simplify the process to secure your moneys. Requiring passcodes, passwords, passphrases, and answers to security questions, which should all be simple to remember for an individual. Yet a ‘skimming thief’ knows these are the…[Read more]

If you were in charge of data.gov, how would you encourage people to make better use of its data?
Data.gov needs a radical makeover. This should include a rebranding of the website to include an easier process to obtaining information, as well as including a tutorial section to support new users. Not only does the data.gov website need to…[Read more]

The internet provides a new form of retail services. This includes book distribution, book publishing, and book marketing. Due to this trend, if I had a choice between publishing through a paper source versus an internet source, I’d have to choose an internet source. This leads to greater exposure capabilities, availability to use advanced…[Read more]

At work, the primary KPI is an increase in student enrollment during the Summer Business School Camp. This is a Specific example to gauge value of the program, the more children who enrolled, the more money is made and greater the exposure. There is no counter argument to how to define ‘increase in student enrollment.’ This is a Measurable…[Read more]

The most recent example I can provide to joining information in two data sets is that I am scripting a cover letter to send to my campers from last year’s Summer program. I would say a completed ERD model is considered information. Data is then extracted from the information in the ERD model. You cannot collect data through an ERD model relationship because the data is within the ERD model. It does not present data, it presents a relationship within information using data.
