I think CRM is more important to an organization because it is customer focused, and organizations are driven by the revenue that customers create. I could see a decision tree being very useful in Operations. A decision tree could be used to determine which course of action to take as it relates to inventory decisions, plant management/layout, or allocation of resources. It would help the Operations Manager map out the various options, evaluate criteria objectively, and arrive at the best decision.
