The important point to take away is that bias is inherent in data collection because where you collect the data from is biased towards the person who is collecting the data. I have always wanted to understand how people gathered these enormous swaths of data and how they compiled it into these neat graphs and statistics. Personally the most interesting part of the course was learning about this process. A data-driven service that I use regularly is Amazon. I could categorize purchases on a spreadsheet I would have the different rows be the “star” ratings of the products. The rows would be the categories that the product falls into, number of reviews, and product name.
