This is a type of vulnerability that can be exploited with Burp Suite. This tool can be utilized to launch a similar style of attack, but to a certain extent. Using proper techniques that I won’t reveal here, a fake account can be created to sign-into a website without real credential information being stored in the website’s database server. This…[Read more]

I believe this is one of the most difficult challenge social media companies are and will be facing for a while. 500% is an alarming number that should convince Facebook, Twitter etc. that something drastic needs to be done to combat phishing. It will take them a lot of time before they get this right. All parties involved, including users, must…[Read more]

Very good article Ryan. Other countries should do the same as this is something that’ll pay off big time in the long run. Many years from now, cyber security will not only be a strategy, but also a mentality and this is a smart way to start preparing for it.

Jason, I don’t own a Tesla, but I would tell you this is something positive for IoTs and autonomous software before they become more mainstream. IT Security professionals should always look this through the lens of positivity every time Metasploit identify a vulnerability because this represents an opportunity, not only to strengthen the security…[Read more]

Should I call this trouble in paradise or trouble in hell? Whichever it is, it’s an interesting “form of civil war” I am anxious to see how this will develop. Will it turn out as a benefit for the “light world,” or a something that worsens the situation for regular internet users when it comes to security? We shall see.

I red another article making similar claim, but I’m starting to wonder if this only has to do with Vizio smart TVs. I think it is matter of time before additional reports reveal the same about Samsung, LG, Sony, Panasonic smart TVs and so forth. It is unfortunate that certain companies will not anything to collect users’ information. This is the k…[Read more]

We live in a text messaging world. In fact, texting is arguably one of the most (if not the most) commonly used form of communication many people interact, share contents with family and friends. WhatsApp, […]

This is the type of ripple effects the general public will face with when ransomware is not being addressed the proper way. This is now creating convenience for the bad guys. Should this have interpreted as something positive since physical crimes is decreasing? I’m not sure about this as no crime in any shape or form should be tolerated. Also,…[Read more]

Good article Jason. Yes, ransomware becomes worse because attackers’ targets expand from big organizations to smaller size companies, and now to individual consumers (PC and mobile devices too). This is a sign that not enough is being done to combat ransomware effectively. This practice is becoming more and more popular. Other than backing up data…[Read more]

This is a claim I find hard to believe, but worth investigating further for the sake of curiosity. Anti-virus has been for years the primary or essential way for PC/Mac owners to protect their devices. Even though […]

It is good to see that Netgear reacted quickly to protect consumers. This is an issue with large potential of negative impacts given the fact that many or more and more people are connecting IOTs to home Wi-Fi. Thank you, Noah, for bringing this to our attention. Nice Article!

This is good news with over 50% using the secure HTTPS protocol. However, I’m not sure how this is going to last or keep the momentum alive if Firefox must continue to play a major part in this turnaround. As reported this week, the future of Mozilla, the company behind Firefox, is uncertain. Per Cnet’s Stephen Shankland in “Firefox fail: Layoffs…[Read more]

These type of innovations are good for convenience, but obviously not security-ready. This represents one of the reasons many consumers are reluctant to start using them. Tesla, Google and Apple need to work together for the common good of consumers’ safety and security.

I’m not surprised that Russia approaches China on this matter. Many believe that all super power countries are aware of almost everything going on when it comes to cyber security, That is not the case at all and this effort from Russia proves so.

Coincidentally, a friend of mine was explaining me something similar happened at that person’s job. An attacker launched a malicious code to the small business’ server and encrypted everything. It looks like the hacker utilized this same method to get into the system. I advised them to unplugged the server from the network, keep it turned on and…[Read more]
