Esperanza is a large community-based nonprofit economic development corporation with 385 employees, a $40M annual operating budget, and a broad array of programs, institutions, and services. Multiple databases are currently in use, across nearly 10 separate departments, which house dozens of schools, training programs, and other initiatives and services. Existing databases capture student and client information and program outcomes, as well as donor transactions and information, and data related to Esperanza’s national network. Specific database platforms are often required by funders, and others are systems selected by Esperanza to manage other sets of data not required by funders.
Esperanza is undertaking a broad-scale data consolidation and management effort, to clean and segment existing data, and to create mechanisms that allow us to all of the organization’s data into a central platform. We are seeking a solution – including both web-based platform and operational processes – that would allow us to streamline contacts and segments from the multiple databases across the organization, and manage them for multiple communications and marketing purposes. The platform and/or operational process should aim to allow synching wherever possible with other databases (Outlook, etc.) and should be mobile compatible.
We look forward to working with a Temple University MIS student to create and/or find and implement a web-based platform that will meet our needs, structure its architecture, and develop the operational processes to manage its ongoing use.
