Your slides are simple and to the point, providing useful guidance to employees in bullet format without any fluff. An average employee can understand the policy and its parameters, thus reducing the chance of misunderstanding and policy violations. Particularly, you keep one thing very simple – USBs should just stay on site without exceptions. It’s hard to misunderstand this, and it definitely reduces risk to the firm!
A minor nitpick – I think the fonts used in the PPT might be unapproachable to employees, as it gives a vibe of intimidating authority. This is potentially a good thing in that it drives the point home, but it might also put them off a bit.
Great job on your project Accu Exchange team members. Your policy and powerpoint were clear concise. If I were an employee I would have been able to quickly adapt to the new policy.
Also, your policy was an easy quick read. I also like the fact that you went straight to the point with possible consequences with your statement of “AccuExchange security policy will, at the discretion of the
employee’s manager, result in immediate dismissal, forfeiture of the annual company
performance bonus or both.”
Hey, Accuexchange team good job. I definitely like how you guys talked about a competitor and how the company could use the mistake of a competitor as a lesson. Also, I liked how the presentation made me feel like I was actually in a training seminar. I like how you guys mention how you could lose your performance bonus if you do not follow the policy. Money is a really good incentive to do something.
Nice work on the project. After looking through your document I like how at first you gave some background reasoning for why you are implementing the policy. You explain the need for restricting the use of the USB removable media in the organization that way if a user is reading this policy for the first time they understand where the management is coming from and don’t think they are just making up rules because they are bored. ( Feel like that happens a lot at my company) I also like how you referenced NIST in the policy. That way even if the user has any question, there is a government issued document supporting them.
I really liked the way you have summed up the entire Information Security policy on removable drives with the use of intuitive pictures showing what is right and what is wrong in your presentation. While many of us might know that Signing for a USB and Removing USB drives from within an organization premises is wrong, something interesting to note here is the fact that disposal too has its own repercussions. Proper disposal is equally important as Securing a removable drive that contains important information. The document explaining Manager and Human Resources Enforcement Responsibilities definitely added a lot to my knowledge as well, especially where a manager should take charge of the situation and ensure that no other removable drives are being misused by other contributors.
However, just a suggestion that I felt should be passed on. The fonts in the presentation are too bold and the images used are too heavy, making the presentation load quite slow. Otherwise, it was a really great presentation that was worth noting down.
