Tricks for Launching your own website.
The event took place at Blackstone LaunchPad in the Howard Gittis Student Center on 4/26/2018. At this event I learned how to create a website using free or low priced software. I also learned about the things that need to be considered when creating a website, such as how to order information based on importance, the amount of bandwith needed for the website, and the type of content that you want on the website, like videos and music. All of these decisions will determine the type of software used in designing the website, as some software has restrictions on bandwith, which in turn limits the amount of content that can be placed on the website.
This event relates to my coursework in MIS3501 Data Centric Application Development as in that class we used PHP, HTML, and CSS to build and style websites. In the class we have not had many opportunities to build a website from the ground up so this event taught me the factors that needed to be considered when designing a website for a business.
