MIS 3406 Refresh
I assisted Professor Doyle in working through the assignments, activities, and projects for MIS 3406 (Enterprise IT Architecture) class. The tasks included working through Amazon Web Services (AWS) and providing feedback to the instructions that Prof. Doyle created. I took his class back in Spring 2019 and enjoyed working with Microsoft Azure. During the summer I was able to work on AWS with the refresh, I learned:
- Creating instances (virtual machines) on AWS using their EC2 platform.
- Setting up Virtual Private Cloud, a commercial cloud computing service that provides users a virtual private cloud, by “provision[ing] a logically isolated section of Amazon Web Services Cloud”.
- Making a cloud flash drive, making a storage volume using S3 (object storage through a web service interface) to connect it with one instance and then attach it to another instance just like a thumb drive.
- Working on an Autoscaling Group, ElasticBeanstalk, and Relational Database Service.
