Biography of Anthony Messina
Tony reports the Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer, and he is a member of the IT Leadership Team. Tony was named to this position in 2012. His responsibilities include IT governance, strategy, portfolio management, finance, communications, vendor management, and service management.
Since joining Campbell as a Programmer in January 1981, Tony has held increasingly responsible roles including Business Unit IT Director, Director of IT Operations, and Director of Corporate IT Systems.
In January 2003, he was appointed Director-Human Resources, serving as the Human Resources business partner for Campbell’s Global Information Technology organization and the SAP program team. He later held a similar role for Human Resources and Public Affairs.
In 2010, Tony returned to IT as Director-IT Governance and Administration, where he was responsible for centralized planning and control of discretionary IT spending.
Tony graduated magna cum laude from Widener University in Chester, Pa., with a major in business management. He earned his M.B.A. degree in information systems from Drexel University. He also is a member of the Society for Information Management (SIM).
From 1998 to 2008, Tony participated on the Campbell Soup Foundation World Headquarters Dollars for Doers committee, which he also chaired from 2001 through 2004. He also has served since 1998 on the Board of Trustees of the Genesis Counseling Center, and he was named chairman in 2006. He has served terms as president and treasurer on the Barclay Area Civic Association, and was a member of the Cherry Hill Township Mayor's Citizen Advisory Board from 1991 to 1998. He participated on the parish council of St. Pius X / Holy Eucharist Church from 2004 to 2011, and he has coached youth sports teams.
