Volunteer:

I’m returning to the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program for the second year to help low income people to file their tax return. I feel great being able to use the knowledge I learned from school to make some impact in my community.

Deloitte National Leadership Conference (DNLC) – summer 2010:

DNLC is one of the most exciting experience in my college life. It’s a four days event where I had chances to network with Deloitte professionals working in all practices all over the country. I could get to know Deloitte and its people as much as I want. The great thing about having the opportunity to talk to professional working in the practice was that I could really get to know their day to day work, not just the overall technical aspect; and then decided which one is more suitable for me.

I also learn a lot about the company, its culture and what it values. I also had fun working in team and meeting other students around the country. It was a fabulous experience!

PwC Extreme Tax Competition: Winner, Fall 2010

I had a great time participating in the xTax Competition. I enjoyed the fact that I got to use the knowledge I learn from school to solve a real life business issue. The case was about minimizing the company’s exposure of collecting sales tax of online transactions. The subject really inspired me because I myself actually do most of my shopping in the Internet. So I was excited to get to know how sales tax really work for online shopper.

One great aspect of the competition is that we are required to work in team with different class standing members. I actually didn’t know other members in my team at first and we really got into some real argument. However, as we were trying to work things out, we really got to know more about each other; and now, I can say I love my team :)

By the way, it was about time management too. The whole competition is two week long and it was during the midterm time!
