- What you learned: Ron Kim mainly talked about the transition he had during his career. From consulting at Accenture to taking on a leadership role in a corporate setting at PECO. He also then went into a private equity firm and then back into a corporate role where he now leads Merck as their CTO. During the chat, he mentioned how consulting is a great place to start a career because it exposes you to a lot of companies while the corporate role is better when you want to individually focus on a company and see what your work does for people.
- How the activity relates to coursework or your career goals: For my career goals, I have heavily considered going into consulting. Learning more about how you’re always on the move working with different companies, and that you have to be agile when it comes to your clients’ needs was really helpful. Because now I have a sense of direction when looking at this position.
