Financial Management Association
In March 2014, I joined the Financial Management Association at Temple University.
FMA provides members with finance knowledge and business acumen not available in the classroom. The group also conducts community service activities, finance workshops, publishes a résumé book, and prepares members for employment interviews.
Guest speakers, including professionals and alumni in careers such as stock-brokerage, financial planning, banking, and management provide business insights and networking opportunities. Business professionals assist future graduates with internships and employment opportunities. Recent trips include visits to the New York Stock Exchange and Vanguard
Beginning April 1, 2014, I was able to serve FMA as the Webmaster. This position involved not only regular updating of the organization website, but also experience with html and WordPress.
In Fall of 2014, I began work as the Director of Finance, and have since been promoted to VP of Finance and am the CFO-elect for next year. In this role, I have worked with our CFO to maintain the financial structure of the organization. Through maintaining membership dues and helping to oversee allocation of funds from Temple University, I have been able to aid our finance team in keeping a very strong financial structure.
