Work Experience
Currently, I work on campus at The College of Liberal Arts Advising Center as a Peer Advisor. This is my third year as a Peer Advisor. Because of my experience, I have the ability to train the new Peer Advisors hired this summer. It is very rewarding when a new Peer Advisor offers the correct academic advice without needing my help. My daily responsibilities include training the new employees, scheduling advising appointments, and offering academic advice to students.
While I was in high school and during winter breaks at Temple, I worked part-time at Wawa as a Customer Sales Associate. It was a great first job. There were two main areas in my store where an employee could work; deli and register. In both areas I learned patience and the ability to multi-task efficiently; two qualities I view as most important. Without this experience, I don’t think I would have as good a work ethic as I do now.
In the summer of 2011, I was an accounting intern for Urban Engineers, Inc. I had just finished my freshman year at Temple, so most of my responsibilities consisted of non-accounting related tasks, such as filing and entering client information into the new accounting database. I also gained experience on how to prepare invoices. Recently, I was offered a full-time position as a Billing specialist.
