“The Impact of Generative AI on Governance and Policy”, hosted by Gartner, discussed upcoming trends in GenAI such as ChatGPT and its implications on the industry of governance and policy. While GenAI can carry risks of deployment, it can also aid firms in maintaining their competitive advantage. In navigating the world of AI, it is important for businesses to establish strategies, tools, and guidelines to properly leverage the benefits of AI application. There is a significant amount of risk management in the emergence of AI trends, but with proper adaptation, the governance and policy industry can greatly benefit from this new IT tool. This is strongly correlated to both my academic and professional work experience. AI is not just a buzzword, it is already being used in modern business processes. It’s important to know the implications of emerging IT trends and how they may affect the industry/sector I enter after graduation.
