Thinkful Webinar: Data Science vs Data Analytics
I attended the Thinkful: Data Science vs Data Analytics Webinar on February 21, 2023, which discussed the major differences between data science and data analytics, as well as the possible career paths in each concentration. The speaker first talked about the data skills necessary for these roles and why they are in such high demand. Then, they went into detail about what day-to-day tools are needed in these possible career paths. For example, a data analyst will need knowledge of spreadsheets, SQL, and business intel tools, as well as a focus on examining data and reporting insights about it. Whereas a data scientist will need knowledge of statistical models, Python, and SQL, with a focus on using collected data to model future systems. And lastly, they gave key tips for determining which may be a better fit for someone. This is very useful when considering possible career paths. I think I am more fit for a data analyst role and this webinar only secured that.
