The Bonnie J. Addario Lung Cancer Foundation (ALCF) was created by Bonnie J. Addario to eradicate lung cancer through research, early detection, education, prevention and treatment. Its staff consists of volunteers, medical professionals, surgeons, and lung cancer survivors.
As an intern for the ALCF, I worked in tandem with the San Carlos based foundation to acquire independent and corporate sponsorships for the foundation’s annual 5K race in Philadelphia, PA. To do this, I established lines of communication with representatives from local businesses, foundations, hospitals and cancer centers. Furthermore, I met with surgeons at local hospitals to discuss and gauge potential involvement in the foundation’s Philadelphia 5K, and helped finalize sponsorship contracts with all parties I contacted.
