The William C. Dunkelberg Owl Fund

Time Frame: Spring 2015 – Present

Associate Analyst – Industrials Sector

The William C. Dunkelberg Owl Fund was founded in 2006, and began with only 25 members. Today, the organization has grown to over 150 members. The William C. Dunkelberg Owl Fund has a portfolio composed of equity investments throughout various sectors of the economy. Industry standard research tools such as Bloomberg Professional, Morningstar and Capital IQ are used to conduct company due diligence and valuation in creating research reports that are presented to the TUIA. Investment analysis and equity pitches are done in the Capital Markets Room.

Alongside a team of one lead analyst and two associate analysts, I research industrial companies in the S&P 500 using various sources of corporate financial information, such as Bloomberg and Capital IQ. Our team will determine which stocks are undervalued, and what figures, graphs, statistics and ratios point towards the undervaluation. Then, we will research current and future prospects of an undervalued corporation to discover catalysts that will bring its stock to fair value. After gathering all relevant information, our group constructs stock pitches of undervalued corporations listed on the S&P 500 through written documentation and Microsoft PowerPoint presentations, and perform these pitches in front of representatives of the Temple University Investment Association.
