Comcast Corporation’s Comcast Center Internship Program (CCIP) provides opportunities for engagement, high-level networking, and professional development to all of its interns. During the 11-week program, interns will directly report to a leader within one of hundreds of divisions within the company. Interns have the chance to network with professionals throughout the company in casual and formal settings on a daily basis. And, workshops and career fairs organized by Comcast prepare interns for the professional world they will enter when they graduate. The CCIP treats its interns like full-time employees, while also giving them the tools and resources to grow.

As a Business Services Sales Operations Intern working at Comcast’s headquarters in Philadelphia, I enhanced the Business Services department’s operational efficiencies by collecting and analyzing data, summarizing and delivering content, and monitoring and auditing sales processes. Additionally, I worked with the department’s Vice President to create a competitive analysis outlining differing vendor pricing options. Furthermore, I designed and deployed various internal communication documents across multiple sales channels, providing vital information regarding the implementation and proper adaptation of new corporate processes. Outside of my day-to-day activities, I attended luncheons and networked with different leaders within Comcast, participated in community service through Comcast Cares Day for Interns, and participated in seminars and professional development workshops with Comcast’s recruiters.

Working for Comcast showed me the true value of all employees on a team, no matter how large or how small his or role may seem at face value. Even as an intern, I saw myself make meaningful contributions towards the company’s operations on a daily basis. Content that I created was used by upper-level management in meetings, and I was often times used as a liaison to convey information from sales management to sales representatives. Also, I learned how to ask questions in the workplace. The culture of Comcast moves very quickly, and there is always work to be done. I regularly asked to collaborated with a variety of individuals on many different projects, and was able to work effectively and establish great working relationships by doing so.
