Proposal:
A gamified social energy app that incentivizes and rewards consumers for having lower water/ gas/ electricity usage relative to their neighbors, area (city), and state. Users will complete a “house profile” with the number of people in their house, number of square feet, location, and other information. The app will provide recommendations on how to reduces our energy usage and can be more customized if users input their types/ models of appliances. The app will also forecast your bills based in your current usage rates.
We will make money by selling data to energy companies and green appliance manufacturers. The app will be free to consumers (with ads) or a subscription service (without ads).
Consumers would use the app to check their energy usage relative to surrounding areas and save money on their bill by using less energy (be green!). Users would also use the social app to receive rewards based on aggregated energy/social scores.
In order for this to work, we need cooperation from energy providers and permission from users to use their energy data.
