Description:
Numerous hours are spent in our everyday lives trying to find parking. Many times when we do find it, it’s either too far from our destination or in a bad location; sometimes both. The majority of commuters can not afford to pay $30 a day to park in a parking-lot. Our app is simple and very handy. It will work with Google maps and focus on specific side road spots where parking is allowed. The user will have to enter the location of their destination so that the app can find something convenient and safe. The app would be community based similarly to Waze Navigation where users would post available spots as they see them or as they vacate a spot themselves. What really makes this app interesting is how much the tourists will love it. There are numerous tourists renting cars to travel the city, but they’re not sure where to park. We can work with rental car services to advertise our app to their renters.
This Parking app will help multiple subsectors of a city population like Philadelphia. For those that commute into work on a daily basis the app will help reduce the amount of time looking for a spot as well as frustration with morning rush hour. It will also allow for members that are on a budget to reduce the percentage of their income on parking. In addition to commuters, another primary focus would be tourists. The Parking App will reduce the stress associated with traveling. This will make navigating the city easier and parking less of a hassle.
Who we’re trying to reach: Commuters, tourists
