I had a good experience in my internship by doing a lot of Access Macros, documentation and also learned how to communicate well with clients and co-workers. I am surprised that my supervisor kept asking if I wanted to help her until the projects are done. I told her that I will be helping until the end of the project. I know that I need to have…[Read more]

I agree on the emails because most clients or coworkers do not know who we are or what are we trying to tell them. We cannot expect them to understand right away what we are trying to say. Your point in separating into different paragraphs is indeed a great way to give them a proper email. This sounds easy, but difficult to do it. Really important…[Read more]

I had the honor to learn about Microsoft Access and play with new software such as Infor. Most of my classes were about developing our critical thinking and how we should proceed with the project when there are issues. The most interesting think I learned in classroom was about HTML and PHP. However, working in the internship, I learned also to…[Read more]

I agree on the flash papers because these are still useful to sell your project. Most clients does not know what to expect and the consequences of investing a new project. Especially talking with sponsors who care more about profit.

When I was in MIS 3535, I learned a lot of documentation and how to present our project using project charter and also creating timelines in Microsoft Project software. Those skills gave me an advantage during my internship. I need to create charts and data models for our projects. Besides this, I need to understand and be able to present the…[Read more]

Hi Tony,
I agree that being aware of urgent tasks can help in our balance and ease up our life tasks. I usually apply that in my life when I encounter barriers along the path. It keeps me alert and understand that some things can be important and others we can organize them on a better time of the week.

I was having trouble with this balance of schoolwork and internship. I realize that time management really comes handy. I created a schedule for my whole week since all day will be the same until the semester is over. In order to help me with this schedule, I keep track of the time I am doing my schoolwork after my internship and the time that I…[Read more]

Hey Andrew,
Your post reminded me the time of my past year internship. I also did not know anything from excel and was afraid of not having the opportunity to learn it. I gladly thank my past internship where I learned a lot about excel and how to make macros and add-ins functions. I agree on what you said about we being starters of an…[Read more]

Hey Alex,
I totally agree on the stretch because sitting in front of the computer for so long kills patience and also not very productive. My supervisor always asked me to take a walk outside and think other things before coming back to work. This always works and I get back to my computer in a good mood and motivated to keep going again. Also,…[Read more]

During my internship I found out that we cannot be afraid to ask questions and the company culture there is key to enhance my teamwork experience. Everyone is in equal standards and the CEO will be really glad to teach anyone and give support. Also, there were people saying that we needed to know some office languages. In My Biz Consulting, we all…[Read more]
