My class reader will discuss the security of your mobile devices. I came across an article […]

Wow – I wasn’t even thinking about these issues with the AppleWatch! Companies are going to have to add another level to their privacy policies – though, if you think about it, your phone could probably do the same thing.

After reading this article, I wonder how popular this watch will be with all of the security issues that need to be considered. If you have to wonder about how vulnerable your information is continuously, it would deter me from making this purchase.
I agree with Donald’s comment. I am also an android user, but am sure that this technology is going to be available through android eventually. Since I am not that “technology savvy”, this particular item does not interest me. Good article though.

I understand that Apple would want to create a device, such as the Apply watch, after the Fitbit and other fitness devices showed to be successful, but I agree with Donald that the Apple watch is too much. I also store personal information, such as card information and usernames and passwords that I would not want a hacker to obtain. I have never had any problems with my information being taken or released, but I do not feel safe that my information is protected and after reading this article I feel even more uneasy about it. I would be interested in seeing the Apple watch, but would not buy it immediately.

I also hadn’t really thought about the possible security precautions surrounding Apple’s new watch. Although I think this is an interesting approach for Apple to break into the fitness industry like Amanda had stated, I don’t know if there is much of a practical use for storing personal information on it. The one security feature I do have a concern about is their iCloud and how easily it appears for hackers to obtain information from this medium. I am curious to see how this could play into the new iWatch as well. Personally I do not keep a lot of personal information on my phone but I have made purchases and frequently sign in to some of my accounts. It does worry me but I think there’s always going to be a fear surrounding such sensitive info whether it on a mobile platform or not.

I find this article interesting but scary at the same time. I try not to store certain types of information on my phone (SS#,Credit Card, Banking, etc.). I have heard of similar types of programs that allow individuals to take control of the entire Iphone including the camera, microphone, view of messages, and any other activity. This type of issue can also occur on a regular desktop/laptop computer as well. I think the major issue with the Iphone and smartphones in general is the lack of virus and spyware detection software.
