During the summer of 2014, I was contacted by Jim Davolos, the owner and founder of a company called Custom Made Logistics Inc. Mr. Davolos expressed his interest in hiring me to completely redesign his company website (cmlogistics.biz). My initial reaction was, “why would he want me, I’m just a student?” however, with that in mind, I saw this as a tremendous opportunity to put my skills to the test and enhance my knowledge along the way. If there is one thing I learned in the Fox School of Business, it is that when an opportunity comes along, do not take it for granted! Therefore, I told Mr. Davolos that I would make a prototype, and if he felt that it was up to par with his expectations, I would be more than happy to be his website designer. After designing a prototype for his website, Mr. Davolos was extremely happy with what I had designed and I immediately started researching and designing his new company website. Currently, I am employed by Custom Made Logistics Inc. on what I consider a part-time basis. My duties include improving my work, continued maintenance, and updating any aspect of the website that Mr. Davolos asks of me. Custom Made Logistics Inc. pays me a monthly installment fee, and I get to continue enhancing my website design skills, and gaining tremendous experience with an exceptional company.

The slides are password protected which was sent in an email, please check you email for this password. Do not copy and paste the password because it seems to copy extra characters. I advise that you manually type the password. I have tried myself and it does open when you manually type the password.

Hi Sean,
You have several options. One would be to call the help support which I provided in the post “Help Desk for Pearson”. I also sent several emails out over the past few days which my assumption is that you did not get a chance to read. You might need to run the browser check utility and make sure popups are allowed. This should help clear up any problems that you are having with the browser. In addition, Pearson is exerpiencing some problems that should have been fixed by yesterday, but in the case they did not, I provided the class with the chapter so that everyone would be able to read. You may relax regarding the quiz, I pushed it back a week, so you will have two quizes due on 9/9. I hope this helps, please try to read my emails for clarifications. Im sorry this has been such an issue and we’ll cover everything this upcoming class. Just try to relax and don’t put so much pressure on yourself. 🙂 -
Hi Sean,
You will need to contact Pearson Technical support if you are still having trouble as you need this resolved to be successful in this course. Did you run the browser check tool provided on the Pearson website? If you bring your laptop to class I might be able to see what is happening, but cannot promise anything and still advise you to call their support number. I provided that number in the post.

Welcome to the MIS 2101 Section 101 Tuesday evening course site. This is the site that will be utilized throughtout the semester to communicate course information. This site will contain anything relevant to the course and it is your responsibility to monitor and check weekly for changes in regards to the course material, schedule, or news.
I encourage you to use this site as an interactive site to communicate between your classmates and myself by posting comments or questions. You will find that in many cases others will have the same questions needing answered or opinions on the current topics.
Your first task for this course is to review the course syllabus and become familiar with the class room policy and expectations. Your first reading assignment and quiz is due on 9/2. Please be prepared by buying all course material this week and completing assignments prior to the start of class.

Sean, Did you read and follow the instructions for “Pearson Student Registration Instructions”? After you follow the instructions, any problems we will be able to tackle during our first class.

Hello Ashley,
The book is available via eText when you purchase the online access. I would not suggest paying for the material twice as you need to purchase the online access for this course. I am waiting for a response if the book will be available via text at the book store. I will also be sending emails out tonight to address some students issues and how to fix, please be on the look out for that meeting.
