Hi Duke – I strongly agree on disaster recovery plans…I am surprised these are not mandated to be in place and tested at hospitals. Maybe some of the doctors or health care providers in our class can share some insight on this?
Each of the reasons you listed seem to come back to leadership and the IT Director. The quote from Jacob, infuriated…[Read more]

Hi Saqib – Thanks for sharing your thoughts .. I was eager to hear a doctor’s perspective on the case. I agree that Sunnyvale should pay the ransom . In my view, lives are at stake and I don’t think it will encourage more of this type of activity (they will do it anyway) as is the case with terrorist negotiations. That being said, I would…[Read more]

The security breach at Sunnylake Hospital has resulted in doctors, nurses and hospital personnel not being able to access the computerized medical records of patients. Despite restoring the system twice, it has crashed and users are still getting “access denied” messages when trying to retrieve records. The breach appears to have occurred due to…[Read more]

I would explain to the five year old that a lot of people are mad because they were trying to help people by telling them about places they visited but that Yelp was not sharing their stories like they promised. I would further explain that the people who were sharing spent a lot of time trying to help and were unhappy because it wasn’t fair t…[Read more]

Paul Young commented on the post, Case Question: Airbnb — "EJ" Incident, on the site 9 years, 8 months ago
I think Airbnb could have done more to gather complete information on their customers to protect hosts like “EJ”. The case reading stated that guests were not even required to provide full names when submitting a reservation request. I would put a “know your customer” type program in place requiring complete customer profiles with a required…[Read more]

Hah – I share your pain as I am a long suffering Jets fan/season ticket holder. Hopefully we are on the right track now with “Temple Made” Todd Bowles as our coach!

Hi Saqib – you just have to go into the privacy settings when you get their phone and turn on location services. It gave my wife piece of mind for years as she tracked where they were on her iPad without them knowing. As they get older they may be able to figure it out – but just explain its only there so you can find their phone in case they lose…[Read more]

Hi Everyone,
I finally purchased a smart phone late last year (my daughters have had iphones for years) so I am just discovering the wonderful world of mobile applications. Speaking of wonderful worlds, I loved the Walt Disney World app that I used when I was there right after Christmas. I was able to book FastPass reservations in advance, get…[Read more] -

Kevin – I am similar to Saqib, never thought about Twitter that way so will have to check it out – thanks for the tip. I just created an account on Instagram – only because my daughter is studying in Australia and posting pictures there. Little by little I am joining the mobile world:)
