Thanks for sharing Shain. I think this is one of the many reasons that Facebook has become so successful. They strategically engage their users to share their emotions, interests, passions, and connections in a way they can correlate that data and benefit from it. I think some of the increased benefits they are experiencing from this are increased user engagement (by targeting their feed with posts and ads that will appeal to them) and increased ad revenue (by increasing click through ad rates). Users are willing to share this information, so technically they aren’t violating privacy. Always remember, Facebook is watching!

As many laws and regulations are in place for encryption of data when in transit and at rest in the medical industry, it is not uncommon for employees, doctors, etc. to violate HIPPA. In the event of an emergency, this should be acceptable, especially if the patient’s life is at risk, and time is a factor in receiving these m…[Read more] -

Conventional computers require binary data. Quantum computers use qubits, which can represent one, zero, and any state in between. This allows quantum computers to operate much faster than a conventional computer. Even the best super computers of the world today would not be able to process and operate faster than a quantum computer.
Based on…[Read more]

Kerkhoff’s Principle states that a cryptosystem should be secure even if everything about the system, except the key, is public knowledge. It is applied in modern day encryption such as DES, AES, etc. The principle is formed on the basis of open security and security by design. “After a message has been subjected to a cry…[Read more]

The main difference between TCP and UDP is that the TCP is connection oriented, while UDP is connection-less. In TCP after the connection is setup, bidirectional sending of data is possible. In UDP, packets are sent in chunks. TCP is more reliable than UDP, but UDP is faster than TCP. There are some uses today, where UDP is an acceptable…[Read more]
