Enterprise resource planning is like the toy train rail where a train can navigate through different stops around the map on the same rail. The rails among the stops in the map are the same so the train can pass through each stops more quickly and efficiently. At the center of the rail loop, there is one home for the train to get fuel and maintenance. Now, imagine each stop has a direct rail to the train’s home and there are multiple trains running at the same time. As a result, the trains work together on the same rail to move passengers around with one home. This is ERP.
