Target Case Competition 2018 – 1st Place
Target Case Competition 2018
1st Place
The competition is held annually by Target Corporation and Fox Center for Student Professional Development, in which students act as senior buyers to tackle a scenario with hypothetical challenges. In this year’s case, my team has to consult Target on how best to leverage gender-neutral practices while deliver its “Expect More. Pay Less.” brand promise for digitally-connected families.
Our pitch to Target is a four-part plan titled “PlayVenture”, aims to promote an inclusive environment for kids to explore different interests regardless of their genders. It includes the implementation of an in-door play area where kids could test out toys and shoppers could earn rewards, the development of new in-store displays to promote gender-neutral product categorization, the creation of an internal toy brand, and the optimization of online and offline marketing.
