PwC Case Competition 2018
Participant
In Spring 2018, I competed in PwC Challenge with 4 fellow MIS students. PwC Challenge is an annual case competition held by PwC for freshmen and sophomores. This year’s case revolves around Country’s Best, a convenience store chain in the Midwest, and our task is to explore different approaches the company should take to finance its expansion to the South.
Our team proposes an eight-year plan detailing the utilization of automation and staffing realignment to cut down operating expenses. Moreover, by conducting analysis on the competitive landscape and revenue generation, we devise strategies so that Country’s Best can identify which Southern convenience store chains to build and to acquire, thus helping the company make use of the established customer bases and local brands. Therefore, Country’s Best can optimize its operations, reduce cost, and increase revenues which allow the company to self-fund its expansion.
