Create a website for an imaginary business
Our assignment for the MIS2402 PRO Points Project was to design a multi-page website for a made-up business. We had to include HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, and Bootstrap, and the website needs to have at least one interactive cost calculator
For my Project, I created a multi-page website for an imaginary business called Pixel Ice Cream. It is hybrid gaming café and ice cream shop. The website includes multiple pages (Home, About us, Menu, Gaming info, and a calculator). It also features images, links, and business details like hours, services, and pricing.
One page contains an interactive cost estimate calculator that lets users input the number of scoops, shakes, and gaming hours, along with selecting a package type (basic, deluxe, premium). The calculator uses several pricing values based on the bundle selected and automatically determines the overall cost based on the user’s preferences. Upon clicking the “Calculate” button, the user’s total is updated.

Indigo Trans: Logistics Service Website
I developed a business website called Indigo Trans, a fictional freight and transportation company, as part of my coursework for MIS 2402 at Temple University’s Fox School of Business. The website features a freight cost estimator built with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Bootstrap. I handled the entire project, including designing the layout, coding the interactive features, and making the site user-friendly. Through this project, I strengthened my skills in web development and front-end design. This experience helped me better understand how web technologies can support business operations and improve customer engagement.
Plant & Play Cafe Website
This project encompassed the creation of a multi-page website for the fictional “Plant & Play Cafe,” designed to inform users about the cafe’s concept, services, and contact information. A key interactive component of this website was the development of a dynamic party rental cost calculator. The initial HTML structure for the calculator was provided as part of a class assignment, which I then expanded upon. I implemented the interactive elements and cost calculation logic using JavaScript (leveraging jQuery) and styled the entire website with CSS. Throughout this development, I utilized online resources and consulted with my professor to ensure code accuracy and efficiency, particularly in implementing robust error handling within the calculator for user input.
My role involved taking the provided HTML for the calculator and building out its complete front-end functionality. Additionally, I was responsible for creating the other three informational web pages (About, Services, Contact) to provide a comprehensive user experience. For the calculator, this included writing the JavaScript to capture user inputs, perform cost calculations based on selected packages and hourly rates, and dynamically update the displayed costs. A significant focus was implementing input validation to handle non-numeric, zero, or negative entries, providing clear feedback to the user. This project, including the interactive calculator and the informational pages, enhanced my front-end web development skills in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for creating both static content and dynamic interactive elements, while also emphasizing user-centric design and effective error handling.

Create a website for an imaginary business / SustainaWheels
For this project in MIS 2402, I created a website for an imaginary business through visual studio code using html coding. I created a website called SustainaWheels, which is a business that has mobile refill trucks that bring zero waste essentials to your neighborhood. I created web pages for how it works, products, about, and estimate. I used text and visuals to inform potential customers. For the estimate web page, I created an interactive calculator for cost estimation. This project really taught me how to create a new website properly with the appropriate pages to start a business.
Linkedin Learning Projects
For MIS3535, I completed two LinkedIn Learning courses: Microsoft Project 2016 Essential Training and Learning Design Thinking: Lead Change in Your Organization. These two courses were part of a professional development initiative to strengthen my project management and innovation skills. In the Microsoft Project training, I learned how to effectively plan, schedule, and manage projects using Microsoft Project, refining certain skills like setting baselines, assigning resources more efficiently, tracking progress more accurately, and being able to identify variances. In the Design Thinking course, I learned more strategies to foster my creativity, lead change, and implement user-centered solutions in an organization. Through these experiences, I enhanced both my technical proficiency with project management tools and my ability to drive innovation and positive change in teams and organizations.

Amazon AWS Cloud Foundations Certification
I recently completed the Amazon AWS Cloud foundations course which taught me numerous concepts that build upon my knowledge from my Cloud Architecture course. The goal of this course and certification was to lay out and understand the basics of Amazon AWS- and what it really does. I learned about the basics such as cloud computing, the scalability and functions of the cloud, core AWS services, and how billing works. The course genuinely taught me what the “cloud” is and is functions, as well as all the caveats that can make the AWS service more advantageous in a more practical sense for the workplace- for businesses. By taking all the knowledge checks and then cumulatively, the exam, I was able to learn more in-depth information about what we covered in class such as, Databases, Security, Storage, Computing, and well-designed framework. I was also able to learn more about topics not heavily covered in class such as Glacier and DBS as well. It was adventageous to be able to learn this important framework’s and uses of AWS, without having a deep technical background, and lay the beginning stepping stones leading up to the Cloud Practitioner Exam.
Static Website
In my MIS 2402 Web Application course with Professor Miller, the students were prompted to do an optional project that required creating a prototype website for an imaginary business with one interactive calculator. This was a great opportunity to test my skills and apply the material learned in class for a realistic scenario. The results were great, and although I would have wished to have perfected it a bit more, it was still satisfactory. My experience with this project was surely not the easiest but a challenge is always welcomed. Thank you.
