I completed the AWS Academy Cloud Foundations course sponsored by AWS Academy, which provided a strong foundation in cloud computing concepts, AWS services, security best practices, and cost management strategies. I learned about AWS’s global infrastructure, cloud models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), and key services like EC2, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, VPC, and CloudFront. Additionally, I explored AWS security measures like IAM, MFA, and encryption, as well as pricing models and tools such as AWS Pricing Calculator and Trusted Advisor to optimize costs. Completing this course has prepared me for real-world cloud environments and future AWS learning and certifications.

Data Analysis Project
For this project, our group conducted an original data analysis based on a dataset from Kaggle, which contained exam scores for students from a public school. This dataset included over 30,000 data points and 15 variables, and it also covered three key test scores along with a variety of personal and socio-economic factors. We centered the analysis on the question, “Is test success really in our hands?”—this is something that we all agreed would be the best and most intriguing topic to focus on for our visualizations. My role in the project was to clean and prepare the data so that the other members in my group could use the data to analyze and create visualizations, as well as writing the conclusions of our results and what we learned from this analysis. For this project, we used Tableau to visualize our key insights, such as how female students tended to outperform male students, as well as how playing sports correlated with higher grades in subjects like writing, math, and reading. Our results suggested that while factors like hours spent studying, time management, and work ethic significantly influence test success, there were also external factors such as socio-economic background and parent marital status that played a big role in how well students did on their exams. Through this analysis, we learned how to deal with handling very large datasets, applying visualization tools more effectively, as well as being able to assess how all these different factors influence outcomes on student success.

Project 4 | Study Abroad calculator
This project was focused on creating a webpage in the focus of accessibility. My website’s idea was to make the search of finding study abroad programs easier and more transparent when it comes to finding financial costs. I then presented and showed a demo in front of my class to get feedback on my project and presentation. I then got a 95% on the project which is over the 70% requirement to earn PRO points.

Silver Oak Weddings Prototype
This project is a Figma Prototype for the Silver Oak Weddings Website, a website used to book weddings, engagements, and couple photography and videography shoots. I made edits to the website to include information about the team, frequently asked questions, and a reviews page, which added to their contact sheet and example photos. Adding these will give users more knowledge and comfort of who they are booking with. When starting off this project, I had a couple of my friends review the website and had them give me their positive and negative thoughts. Additionally, I reviewed other photographers’ websites to gain a better understanding of the usability and conceptual model. I learned a lot about what people interested in booking shoots prioritized and what is visually appealing.
