Flash Research Assignment 3

Tyler Nelson

The implementation of SharePoint will give our company a three-year net benefit of $1,846,250. SharePoint’s ability to provide our company with a shared space to store documents will greatly increase our productivity.

SharePoint is a system that ties all of your employees’ PCs and mobile devices together. One of the key features of this technology is that it will give our company a shared space to store documents which anyone can access at any time. This keeps the files from being kept on only one person’s hard drive and difficult to access. Documents on SharePoint are accessible by anyone in the company, meaning employees do not need to waste time requesting files they might need for the project they are working on. This feature will help to increase productivity by enabling our employees to increase their billable hours by a significant amount per year.

Spending less time struggling with the management of documents related to projects, our company would see a three-year net benefit of $1,846,250 with the purchase of SharePoint. This is possible because each PMP will be able to bill out another 400 hours per year, and we would see a three-year benefit of $2,100,000 with a three-year cost of only $253,750. The purchase of SharePoint will pay for itself within the first year.
