Ascend National Conference
Ascend is a National Organization for Pan-Asian Leaders. Ascend has a student chapter in Fox registered as an SPO sponsored by the accounting department but it is open for accounting, finance and MIS students in the Fox School of Business. Being the Director of University Relations for the SPO and being in the e-board, I was honored to attend the national conference for Ascend Members from 17 professional chapters and 24 student chapters all over the US and Canada. The event occured from August 23rd to 24th for students and 24th to 26th for professionals, in Washington DC. There were a lot of activities to improve soft skills, body language, elevator pitch, interview skills. etc. There was career fair, resume critique, women panel, hackathon and other professional networking opportunities. This conference helped me make new connections, apply the business school values, bring the Fox School SPO culture into the program specifically during the presentation done by Ascend Temple Chapter combined with Ascend Drexel Chapter regarding the Symposium 2019. This also is an experience that would advance to my career when I work in a firm to be a part of the professional chapter, there by carrying the legacy and give back to the community.
