Data Verification Specialist – IMS Health

Gained experience as a data verification specialist through Yoh services for IMS Health.
Worked on an Amgen HCOS(Health Care Organization Services) matching project. My responsibilities were to look at key unique identifiers and check the levels of granularity between two records to decide whether or not to match records. While looking at key unique identifiers the stewardship requires quick but accurate research across IMS health databases, and sometimes Google research. While working on the Amgen HCOS project I was able to assist team members and help troubleshoot problems they or I encountered.
Also, worked on Merck Oncology HCP(Health Care Providers) matching project. Similar responsibilities to HCOS matching project except unique identifiers are different, still required quick but accurate research across IMS Health databases with the occasional Google research. Both projects reporting were uploaded to IMS Health version of Microsoft SharePoint on a weekly basis.
I currently work on a project for Gilead Sciences as a data verification specialist. I steward through monthly updated files of sales data accounts to verify whether or not to bridge accounts to their customer relationship management accounts. Monthly refreshes are processed and delivered to a IMS developed mobile app for Gilead’s sales team.
Key takeaways from the data verification specialist experience is that I gained understanding of how important Master Data Management is in the Pharma industry. Data stewardship projects help stakeholders make informed decisions to support better outcomes by eliminating duplicate records, verifying or deleting incorrect data, and applying governance for maintaining their data in the future.
