I haven’t done a lot of research or know much about the Apple card but just reading the summary you wrote doesn’t make it sound like Apple is pursuing something revolutionary. I see that something unique about the card is that its paired with Apple pay and they have very secure privacy features. However, I don’t know if the no data idea is viable…[Read more]

I think adding this component in the Instagram app is a great idea! One click checkout is very convenient and I think adding this feature will make shopping much more easier and convenient. I think it would be cool if some influencer and department store pages gave the customer direct links to the piece of clothing or jewelry that was being…[Read more]

This is really interesting! I didn’t know such a thing existed but I’d definitely use it. I think that using technology as a learning device is the basic mission of many tech centric organizations and programs so I feel that this initiative is very productive and will be impactful to language learners.

“Blockchain” is a technology buzzword that has gotten popular over the last few years. Though we often hear the word, understanding the meaning and the functionality of blockchain in different industries is sti […]

This is such a great application of blockchain technology! Often times this word is thrown around by people who don’t really understand what it means. I think this has caused people to think that you can use blockchain to do almost everything. While this of course isn’t the case, healthcare is a really great practical application. If any doctor would be able to access a patients records from their whole life, they would be able to offer more full and complete care.
One question I do have is in regards to privacy. With regulations such as HIPAA, I wonder if the public nature of a blockchain would become an issue. Since anyone can make changes or additions to the ledger, this could be raised as a concern.

Blockchain is revolutionizing the healthcare industry, especially in the pharmaceutical distribution industry. In my previous internship at AmerisourceBergen, I was tasked with researching how blockchain could benefit the company. I found out that it is a great source of tracking legal drugs and can effectively eliminate the black market for illegal drugs. Using blockchain technology, every single drug transported is accounted for and can not be tampered with, so it is an effective way to securely track drugs.

Ami Parekh commented on the post, Audi can now get information on traffic light signals, on the site 5 years, 9 months ago
I think this is really interesting! I didn’t know a feature like this existed and I think it’ll definitely revolutionize smart cars/driving. Something that worries me about this is that technology is not perfect. Because the signals are being sent through LTE, there is room for error through malfunction or malicious behavior. I think its similar…[Read more]

I think restaurants integrating kiosks have improved customer experience. Personally, I really like using kiosks at places like Wawa to give in my order and being able to see a list of all the ingredients that go into a food item. That way I am able to see what exactly is in the item and I can choose to keep, remove, or add in another ingredient.…[Read more]

Voice Technology has a vast amount of benefits, most of which you have listed. Something new that is coming to market, besides a voice activated GPS, is voice assistance in cars. Mercedes now has their own assistant named “Mercedes.” When driving, simply say, “Mercedes” and ask it any question or command just like you would with Siri for example. This feature has huge benefits when it comes to driver safety. The driver can say commands like turning the heat up or down, or even simply say, “Mercedes, I am a little too warm” and the car will slightly adjust the temperature and enable a cooled seat.

Steve Jobs used very effective communication and presentation skills when introducing the iPhone to his audience. Jobs started the presentation with humor, introducing “three” new products that Apple would be launching but then revealing that all three were in fact one super product–the iPhone. Using this tactic engaged the audience and grabb…[Read more]

I think you do a good job explaining the cost/benefits of each type of deployment.

Ami Parekh commented on the post, Week 14 – Discussion, on the site 6 years, 6 months ago
I think looking at cost and time are good factors when assessing which type of deployment a company should pursue. However, it is also important to consider which option will be most beneficial holistically to a company’s health.

I really like how you went into depth on each system and how implementing a deployment method may have certain risks and returns. Using risk as a priority factor is a smart move when deciding what choices a company should make.

Ami Parekh commented on the post, Week 14 – Discussion, on the site 6 years, 6 months ago
I think your ideas involving deployment are accurate, noting that they are difficult and choosing which one to use depends heavily on the state of the business. I also like how you addressed the riskiness of each.

As mentioned in the question, I feel that urgency, experience, complexity, and criticality of the system are all important factors to consider when deciding on how a system should be implemented into an organization. Depending on how the current state of the company is with their system, they have to decide whether or not parallel implementation…[Read more]

Wow! I loved watching this video! I have never heard of Google Duplex before, but that video was really amazing. When I read the title of this, I assumed it was going to be similar to Apple’s Siri or Amazon’s Alexa. The Google Duplex differs from Siri or Alexa because it is much closer to a real personal assistant since it can make actual phone calls on someone’s behalf. Even when the call doesn’t go as expected, such as in the second demonstration, Google Duplex was able to handle the unexpected responses and maintain a graceful manner. People would rather talk to a real human than a robot, so it is great that the way the Google Duplex speaks sounds like a real human. The person on the other end of the line will not even feel like they are talking to a robot! Google is doing something revolutionary here with this AI.
As much as I like Duplex and the intentions, I think it would be better if there was an on screen service like an online booking system. I tested the duplex feature on my google pixel, it works quite well, i get a few spam calls which i just let the duplex system reply on its own, you can also select what the system will say to the caller as well. I’d love this feature for those calls /places that routinely put me on hold or for when I’m working and I’m too busy to make the call myself.
