I agree that “The Lazy” auditor is a bad one since it appears they lost their drive and only want to work on low risk projects and not any highly important ones. However in my opinion the “faker” is worse because they are causing project to lose credibility whereas the lazy auditor is doing their work but just not on high risk projects.

I forgot to add that the faker can’t even be bothered to learn about the process and projects whereas the lazy auditor knows about them.

Sean, I completely agree with your response to characteristics of an auditor. Integrity is definitely one of the most important if not the most important quality an auditor can have. Without integrity and unbiased an auditor is nothing as they will never truly see a process for what it actually is.

Hi Paul,
This is very true. I agree that SAP is well established and doesn’t need to change its GUI as most customers are familiar with it … but if a different company adapted their interface to be more familiar it might give SAP a run for their money therefore SAP might want to make some changes themselves to make themselves competitive.

This is a good and very well crafted answer. Security is a very good example to discuss the risk of compliance controls. Although sometimes I feel like it may be hard for certain organizations to correctly assess and monetize the situation therefore they may not correctly evaluate what costs more the implementation of controls or lack of controls.…[Read more]
