The most important thing I learned in this class was how to use tools tools such as R and data visualation software like Tableau to be better. I leave this term ‘better’ intentially vauge because I will use these tools to be a better intern at EY for FSO Assurance, a better leader in my organization, Student Center for the Public Trust, a better…[Read more]

In auditing, you need to have people’s full social security numbers at the beginning of the audit. As you get to later stages of the audit, They are listed in form XXX-XX-#### , with only the last four numbers being relevant. If I was trying to convert all social security numbers into the later format to make a compiled list of all subjects across…[Read more]

I think the hardest thing about creating an ERD from a problem description is making sure you capture the true intent of the process described. This includes anything from making sure ‘First Name’ and ‘Last Name’ remain separate to making sure attributes are correctly assigned to entities, even if that means they belong to a relationship. The way…[Read more]

Over the summer I was lucky enough to have a great internship with Mitchell and Titus in their audit practice in the Philadelphia office. I was able to see many examples of how raw data could be meaningfully organized into useful information. Many times clients would send records with hundreds of files containing social security numbers, birth…[Read more]
