The Non-Technical Skills of Effective Data Scientists

This course is sponsored by Keith McCormick, and he covers all of the important soft skills of a data scientist. Often times people overlook the soft skills necessary for a data scientist because it is a very technical job, but curiosity, empathy, skepticism, and communication can go a long way in this role. I learned that data scientists need to be good translators of data to their peers, hence having communication skills in this role can make you extremely successful. I also learned how being skeptical of data is never a bad thing; if something looks off, a data scientist needs to be able to identify underlying causes to why data may appear differently than expected. This activity relates to my career goals because I am familiar with data analytics and could possibly become a data scientist one day.
