MIS Alumni Advisory Board Member, Eric Charran presents to AIS/MIS
The MIS Department had the honor of hosting our esteemed MIS Alumni Advisory Board Member, Eric Charran on April 13, 2026, for his presentation “Get Seen, Get Hired, Stay Valuable: Building Career Velocity in the Age of AI.” Our Alter Hall classroom was filled to capacity with engaged Students, Faculty and Alumni alike. We were treated to an insightful discussion that included how to stand out on LinkedIn, how recruiting and hiring algorithms really work, how to think about resumes, and much more!

Temple AIS Wins Big at 2026 SCLC!
Temple AIS had another successful SCLC this year and returned home with two premier awards.
First, our AIS student chapter won the Outstanding Student Chapter Award. This recognition really belongs to all of the officers from last year and this year. Their hard work made it happen.
Second, AIS received another award that was a personal surprise for our AIS Advisor, Professor Sezgin Ayabakan. Professor Ayabakan received the AIS Student Chapters Faculty Advisor of the Year Award. According to Ayabakan, “I really see this as a reflection of our AIS officers, our students, and all of our faculty who have supported me in mentoring and guiding our students.”
Next up, we are excited to confirm that Temple MIS is hosting next year’s SCLC 2027 right here in Philadelphia…stay tuned for details and how you can get involved.

MIS Alumni – “Doing Well by Doing Good” creating a new Funeral Registry venture
MIS alumnus Ryan Oliveira, FOX ’13 is the Chief Operating Officer of GiveWillow, a new Funeral Registry venture that he started along with his former roommate, Janet Tukula. GiveWillow is disrupting the funeral industry by simplifying the end-of-life processes and associated expenses for families and individuals. MIS Alumni Advisory Committee
The Alumni Advisory Committee is a standing committee of the Executive Board and consists of graduates who help to cultivate the next generation of alumni leaders through:
- Providing insight into the impact of educational experiences to professional practice.
- Connectivity with recent graduates and identify opportunities for future engagement.
- Raising awareness and encouraging participation in alumni specific programming.
- Serving as volunteers and ambassadors for advisory board and alumni events.

Lunch with Temple’s Award-Winning Teachers
We are pleased to announce that Professor Amy Lavin, winner of the 2024-2025 recipient of The Lindback Award for Distinguished Teaching, will be joining a panel of her peer Temple University Award winners for a panel discussion at the Center for the Advancement of Teaching, TECH 109,Tuesday, February 10 | 12:30 PM – 2:00 PM. Temple AIS celebrated Homecoming at Lincoln Financial Field on October 11, 2025 with their annual tailgate.
