Completed an MIS 2402 project in which I built two web-based calculators using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, and Bootstrap. The first was a loan repayment calculator, and the second was a balance transfer payoff planner. I focused on input validation, clean design, and accurate financial calculations.

This project was to further my understanding of HTML, CSS, and JS by using what I learned in the course to have any AI tool help me create two special use calculators. The first one was using a prompt that was given and I would not make any changes to. Any bugs that were present needed to be fixed by me in the code editor. After that was running properly, I would change the prompt in certain areas to develop a special purpose calculator of my own. I decided to have the AI tool create a “Dynamic Inventory Optimization Calculator.” This calculator would take input in the form of average daily usage, lead time, and service level factor to calculate the reorder point, and safety stock level for a product. This project helped me not only understand how webpages, specifically single page architecture, are constructed and how code can be written and edited in many different ways to achieve the same goal.

The web development project is a part of my web app course work at Temple University in which I utilized HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, and Bootstrap and AI tools to develop two special-purpose calculators. I designed and tested my own calculator of a loan repayment and a more personalized calculator, concentrating on accuracy and easy-to-use design. The project enabled me to advance my coding abilities, problem-solving, and possibilities to use AI in creating actual web applications.
Temple AIS had another successful SCLC this year and returned home with two premier awards.
First, our AIS student chapter won the Outstanding Student Chapter Award. This recognition really belongs to all of the officers from last year and this year. Their hard work made it happen.
Second, AIS received another award that was a personal surprise for our AIS Advisor, Professor Sezgin Ayabakan. Professor Ayabakan received the AIS Student Chapters Faculty Advisor of the Year Award. According to Ayabakan, “I really see this as a reflection of our AIS officers, our students, and all of our faculty who have supported me in mentoring and guiding our students.”

This assignment was to find a data set and insert it into a decision tree to see the true or false values to help understand what made machines fail. This was impactful for my learning because it allowed me to find a data set from a field I am interested in and figure out how to create a viewable chart that would allow me to show employers what to look for in machines to prevent them from failing in the workplace.
