Work Experience

During the summer of 2014, I interned for one of the big four accounting consulting firms, Ernst & Young.  My experience at EY was nothing less than exceptional!  I got to meet several industry professionals and work as if I was a first or second year full-time employee with the firm.  My work specifically centered around EY’s Financial services (FSO) IT Risk Advisory (ITRA) department, where I:

  • Assisted an external audit of an investment banks’s IT processes and controls.
  • Presented to EY ITRA partners pertaining to an IT hot topic and services EY can offer to help our clients with that specific topic.
  • Networked with EY professionals from all different service lines at all different levels and from all different cities.

I learned so much about the professional work environment and how to succeed in it!  I am extremely grateful for my summer experience with EY and I cannot wait to join the firm full-time in 2015!

Currently, my most recent position is a Peer Advisor for the Undergraduate Advising office at the Fox School of Business.  Some of my duties as a Peer Advisor include:

  • Facilitating conversations between the student and their assigned academic advisor or faculty advisor.
  • Assisting students with registration through Self-Service Banner.
  • Answering general questions about degree requirements, academic support services, university policies and procedures.

Additionally, I work at Temple’s Athletic Department assisting the Athletic Director, Bill Bradshaw.  Some of the main tasks I perform include:

  • Supporting the athletic department with various tasks; answer phone calls, receive and deliver packages, and give tours to prospective students and staff.
  • Organizing, delivering, and picking up messages around campus.
  • Managing clients wanting to speak with or meet with the Athletic Director or that have general questions concerning athletic events.

So far, I’ve learned so much about myself and how other people work in a professional environment   Given the opportunity, I would love to learn even more and strengthen my skills in a business-related internship.
