Traveling and Exploring:

The summer after my senior year of high school, my parents financed a road trip to a music festival in Chicago as my graduation gift. The week-long excursion was one of the best weeks of my life, and I know that there will be a lot of traveling in my future. The fall semester of my junior year, I studied abroad in Dublin and took advantage of my time there by exploring much of Europe including Rome, Italy and Amsterdam and Eindhoven in Holland. I hope to make it back to Europe in the nearest possible future.

Rock Climbing:

Temple University recently installed an indoor rock climbing wall in Pearson Hall, and I have been climbing on it since its addition. The climbing wall managers are not only excellent climbers, but they are always more than willing to help a climber. And the other climbers are always conscientious of others on the wall. Not only is climbing an excellent work out, but just a fun way to relieve stress when the work seems to pile up, and you need something to clear your head.

Reading:

I love reading new books and perusing book stores for old ones. Nothing quite measures up to a the smell in the binding or finding a note inside a used book to some distant stranger. But on a rainy day, I just enjoy sitting around catching up on some Vonnegut or re-reading the Hobbit for the fifth time before the movie comes out.

Music:

Music has been a huge passion of mine since my dad started breaking out his old records for me when I was in elementary school in Tennessee. Now, I enjoy everything from English folk to frenetic hip hop to thoughtful post rock and everything in between. In sixth grade I started playing the clarinet, opening up the performance and composition side of music. Today, I know how to play clarinet, tuba, piano, guitar, and bass and still continue to write after my first studio release during my senior year of high school.
