Secure Coding in C

I finished “Secure Coding in C,” a course that focused on locating and addressing the flaws in the C programming language, in the fall of 2024. This course, taught by Dan Gookin, focused on writing secure C code even if it lacked contemporary safety measures. I became more aware of C’s shortcomings, such its undefined behaviors and pointer problems, and discovered how to write code that avoids them. Validating input, securely handling strings, avoiding problematic formulations, and securely storing private information like passwords were among the main subjects covered.

The coding foundations I established during my Management Information Systems (MIS) program, where I worked directly with web development languages like CSS, HTML, and JavaScript and backend technologies like Node.js, were expanded upon in this course. I can now construct creative, secure, and user-friendly apps thanks to the knowledge I acquired from fusing these languages with secure coding techniques. This is a crucial ability for success in information systems management and product development.
