Welcome to my blog for MIS 3538 taught by Professor Steven Johnson at Temple University.

My name is Jared Vanderzell. I am majoring in Risk Management and Insurance, with minors in Healthcare Management and Management Information Systems.

After switching my major numerous times, I have finally settled on Risk. It is something that I find engaging and interesting; it deals with things that most people don’t take the time to think about. Coupling that with my interest in healthcare made it a great choice for a major.

I chose Temple University because I enjoy the urban environment, the campus, the classes, everything about it. Once I visited the campus all those years ago, I didn’t even bother applying anywhere else.

In MIS 3538, I am looking to discover how social media can be utilized in the business world, and more specifically, how I may be able to apply it to my field of study in Risk Management and Healthcare.

In my spare time, I enjoy taking pictures of Philadelphia and various things on and off campus. Keep an eye out for new photos from time to time.
