Opportunity Knocks: Networking 2.0 – Making Connections That Lead To Jobs
This four-part Webinar is hosted by the CEO of the Mainline Chamber of Commerce’s Talent and Education Network, Bernie Dagenais. The Webinar consisted of two parts: A panel discussion and break-out room discussions. The employers present in the webinar were from around Philadelphia. The panel discussed how to make good first impressions, leaving thank you notes after attending an event, and why building connections is important. After the panel discussion, break-out rooms were organized and group discussions took place for 20 minutes. Within my group, there were students that I recognized from Temple and others from Haverford College and West Chester University. The employer leading my group discussion works at Vanguard and told us her experiences. We talked about the importance of networking, and how to leverage social media platforms like LinkedIn when finding ways to start or improve your career.
