Digital Accessibility for the Modern Workplace

What I learned:

I learned that people with disabilities are 2x as likely to lose their job or seek reskilling. This is why digital accessibility is so important and can ultimately create better experiences for everyone in the workplace. Accessibility is both a responsibility and an opportunity in the technology world. In a work environment, it is important to take key strategies into account in order to deliver accessible experiences to your coworkers. In meetings, being proactive on captions and transcripts, recording meetings, controlling noise, and describing a shared screen are all great strategies to keep in mind. In emails, it is helpful to include descriptions or alt text to attached items, logos, or banners and increase font size.

Career:

This is important to my career goals because in every workplace and company, there will be other employees that work in the same environment. Accessibility is very important and should be available to everyone. This gave me great insight on strategies that I can implement in a future work place in order to become more inclusive as a coworker.
