Opportunity Knocks: Building a Resume and Cover Letter that Gets You Noticed
I participated in the “Employer-Led Opportunity Knocks: Building a Resume and Cover Letter that Gets You Noticed!” webinar on Zoom, sponsored by the Main Line Chamber of Commerce’s Talent and Education Network. My role was a student and a participant. The activities in this webinar provided a back-to-basics opportunity to learn the importance and fundamentals of building a resume and a cover letter. During the session, I learned important skills about what employers are looking for in job applications, how to effectively showcase my skills and experiences, and how to put a final touch on my resume and cover letter to stand out in a competitive job market. I also learned from the webinar that you should put your objectives on the top of your resume. This is a new feature about resumes I learned from the webinar that Temple University’s Fox School of Business and the MIS Department did not teach me about. Fox talks about resumes a lot and MIS has its format of a resumes structure. Main Line Chamber of Commerce’s Talent and Education Network has a different format for resumes. In order to have a successful career goal, it is important to learn and know the fundamentals of a resume.
