The biggest takeaway from this course is how important it is to analyze data and finding errors in data. I would tell someone that this course teaches you how to sort, clean, and use data in Excel and Tableau. Also, how you would transform data into useful infographics.

Amazon stores information about different products for consumers to search and choose from. If the information was to go on a spreadsheet, the columns would be: Product name, Category, Price, Seller, Rating, Number Purchased.

From this article and data set, I found it interesting that the 3 activities those who are employed so with their time is sleep, work, and socializing/leisure/relaxing time. Those who are unemployed spend most of the time sleeping, socializing/leisure/relaxing, and household activities.

An example of a KPI that I use the number of miles I walk everyday around campus. This is specific and measurable, miles is a precise measure for distance. It is achievable, I can change my routes around campus. It is relevant, the more I walk the better it is on my health. It is also time-variant. I can look at my miles, over a week, day, or month.

The mistake that I have done that was listed in the article was #10, opening a CSV file directly on Excel. After making edits to the CSV file on Excel and trying to save it, I discovered that it did not save my edits.

From Hoven’s article, I think the most important principle is Simplify. By simplifying data, it is easier to read and understand the core point of what the data is saying. Data that cannot be understood would not serve a purpose.
