Not everything is learned in the classroom. I see that more and more every job and activity that I participate in. Something that I learned outside of the classroom and in my internship is that not everything works on the timeline initially created. Things come up, people are on time off, or there is another pressing issue. Working with an…[Read more]

My experience was a good experience. I got to see and understand the way that Cigna works and meet tons of people. I worked in the operations division at Cigna. I will not be staying on. Instead, I will be working within their sales department this coming June.

The classroom has helped me a lot with all types of jobs. Especially, this internship. So, it is definitely key to stick ahead of schedule and note that you need to get XYZ done by X date so you can ensure that nothing will fall behind. Overall. it…[Read more]

There was definitely a period of acclimation. Initially, I was confused at the layout of the desks, and I had to use ‘landmarks’ to find my way to and from my desk. Along with understanding the layout, the acronyms was something that took time. Luckily, the company intranet provided wonderful resources to get up too speed for everything Cigna…[Read more]

The reason that I was drawn towards the MIS degree is because of one of my favorite authors; Malcolm Gladwell. Once I read his novel ‘Outliers’ I was sold on the importance of data. The unseen and underlying […]
