My experience working at KPMG was great and I learned a lot or valuable skills that I can use for the rest of my career. I accepted my full time offer at KPMG as an IT Advisory Associate starting in January 2018 right after I graduate. I am extremely appreciative and I look forward to starting my professional career at KPMG.

I believe that you learn most things on the job and school just gives the structure to be successful. There may be a few things such as skills learned in the Excel class and Business Communications that can be used in the workplace but most things your either have to relearn because the company does it differently than you were taught or it is…[Read more]

During my internship I wouls say the skills I learned in Business Communications and Excel class were skills I was able to use. Communication in the workplace is paramount and being able to get your point across in a well crafted email can make your life way easier especially in a large company when people are receiving many emails everyday.…[Read more]

Soft skills are king at my internship. They stress communication and spend a lot of time with soft skill training. Being able to communicated with your team and your superiors is a key to success. One skill that I wish I was more proficient in is excel. It seems as though that is the only technical skill that is really necessary at my…[Read more]

Hi everyone,
I worked at KPMG last summer as an IT Advisory Intern. I was able to work with 5 different clients over the summer doing IT Auditing. I worked on testing any automated system the client had to make sure things were running smoothly and accurately. Over the summer I was able to become proficient enough in the work I was doing to…[Read more]

At KPMG we were given a tour of all the basic places in the office such as the bathroom and kitchen. I was responsible for using the online hotel system to reserve a desk in the office for the day or the week. Only a few people on each floor have assigned desks so every week we had to reserve one if we were going to be in the office.

Yes, I believe more companies will begin to implement a RFID system to help with their inventory process. RFID tags placed on products is used to track inventory, which better automates the entire system. I think NASA is a great example of a company reducing personnel while still being more efficient. NASA’s success will make more companies consider this option, but it will really come down to what the company’s needs are. I am comfortable with NASA using an RFID system since it would not directly affect me.

I find this article interesting because it is a real life example of how the use of technology can be a major asset for business. I believe more companies will implement RFID for the multiple reasons. A business can benefit through the implementation of an RFID system by reducing staff and inventory up to date; in other applications, RFID can also prevent theft.

I agree that more companies will begin using RFID tagging systems. We have a system in one of our facilities that tags customers goods stored on pallets and no matter where they are located in the property, a computer automatically can pull the location information for that customer.

This article is great and shows how a government agency such as NASA can improve its operating systems to focus more on its goals. It also shows how a large organization such as NASA can improve its efficiency by partnering with private sector technology. Great Read!

1. I believe that servers will always need to be available for those who want them or for special requests and questions but the tablets will take over most of their jib responsibilities for those who will use them.
2. I have experienced the tablets at Applebees and the only interaction we had with the actual waitress was our drink order and…[Read more]

1. The risk with big implementing ZTM is that it will slowdown the process of receiving data in the system and it will cause frustration with the users and the employees who have to sift through everything.
2. If companies implement stricter systems and actually abide by them and don’t take shortcuts after a while then I believe that would be the…[Read more]
